Project 365

3 notes &

335/365
Tuesday 30th August 2011. Today was a really lovely family day - mum, Paul and I went to visit my grandparents, who we’ve not seen nearly enough of this summer. Pub lunch, several cups of tea, and a really good catch up.
Tonight we all went into London and met Josh to see Much Ado About Nothing, featuring Catherine Tate as Beatrice; David Tennant should have been playing Benedick but was unfortunately ill. Despite that, it was a really fantastic and very original performance - it’s one of my favourite Shakespeare plays anyway, but the 1980s setting and concept worked really well. My only disappointment was that Catherine Tate really didn’t work for me as Beatrice - I’d had my reservations when we booked the tickets, and she didn’t really prove me wrong. I think I was spoilt by having seen Tamsin Greig play the role stunningly in 2007 - it would have taken a lot to beat that level of perfection.
